Network and Cyber Security Research Lab (NCSRL)” was virtually inaugurated on Saturday, 20th June 2020 by Padmashree Dr. Ganpatbhai Patel, President and Patron in Chief, Ganpat University, India, Dr. Thomas Henderson, Co-Founder of Wireless Network Simulator ns-3 and Professor at University of Washington, USA, Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Pro Chancellor and Director General, Ganpat University along with the august presence of Dr. Amit Patel, Pro Vice Chancellor & Executive Registrar, Ganpat University, Executive Dean and Deans of various faculties of Ganpat University, Faculty Members, Students and other stakeholders.

Dr. Ganpatbhai Patel, President and Patron in Chief, Ganpat University delivered opening remarks and blessed the inaugural of NCSRL Lab. He mentioned about the significance of Ganpat University and its aim and thank Dr. Thomas Henderson, Co-Founder of ns-3 Network Simulator, USA for his presence and inaugurating the research NCSRL Lab.

Dr. Satyen Parikh, Executive Dean of Faculty of Computer Application, Ganpat University described the objective of establishment of Network and Cyber Security Research Lab (NCSRL) to provide a better learning experience to the students using ns-3 simulator, gain empirical knowledge using ns-3 and establish test lab, carry out research work and consultancy work in the area of network and cyber security and to initiate collaborative research work with national/international level agencies.

Dr. Thomas Henderson, Co-Founder of ns-3 Network Simulator, USA inaugurated the lab and delivered a plenary session talk on “Wireless Network and Network Simulation” as a part of Ganpat University: Emerging Technologies Lecture Series. Total 1395 participants include researchers, faculty members, network professionals and students from 34 countries (including India (participants from all the States of India), USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, France, Australia, China, Ireland, Belgium, COLOMBIA. Turkey, Austria, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Malaysia, Yemen, Pakistan, Ethiopia, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Kingdom Of Saudi Arab, Tanzania, Iraq, Morocco, Ghana, Qatar, Zimbabwe and Java etc. ) and across all the state of India have registered and participated in the International Webinar on Wireless Network and Network Simulation ns-3 and also attended online inaugural ceremony. Dr. Henderson shared his perspective on the importance of the ns-3 network simulator to wireless networking research and education. He reviewed the origins of wireless network and network simulation ns-3 and some of the broad goals of the ns-3 tool, surveyed the current status of its wireless models, and provided pointers for more information and tutorial content. Dr. Henderson also discussed his experiences in mentoring research students on ns-3 over the years, and in using ns-3 as university courseware.
