Professor (Dr.) Nirbhay Kumar Chaubey

Professor (Dr.) Nirbhay Kumar Chaubey serves as Professor and Dean of Computer Science at Ganpat University (GUNI) in Gujarat, India. Prior to this role, he was the Associate Dean of Computer Science at Gujarat Technological University (GTU) in Ahmedabad, India. With over 25 years of experience, he is dedicated to academic, research, and administrative leadership, and he regularly teaches postgraduate courses in Computer Science.

In 2014, he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Gujarat University in India under the guidance of Dr. Savita Gandhi, Professor and Head of the Computer Science Department at Gujarat University, and the mentorship of Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, former Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University (GTU). His thesis was titled "Enhancement of Security Mechanism in Design of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks using a Suitable Secure Routing Algorithm." Earlier, from 2003 to 2004, Professor Chaubey was a project trainee at the Space Applications Centre (SAC) of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. During this time, he worked under the mentorship of Shri Arup Dasgupta, former Deputy Director at SAC, ISRO, and the guidance of Dr. Haresh Bhatt, former Mission Director and Chairman of the Information and Cyber Security Board at ISRO. Later, from 2011 to 2012, he served as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at Gujarat Technological University (GTU), working closely under the guidance of Dr. Akshai Aggarwal.

His research interests include Wireless Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, Network Security, Cybersecurity, Quantum Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Ad Hoc Networks, Sensor Networks, and Cloud Computing. He has coordinate for number workshop and faculty development program include AICTE - ATAL FDP, AICTE-VAANI, established a well-regarded Scopus-indexed Springer International Conference on Computing Science, Communication, and Security (COMS2), which is held annually. Dr. Chaubey has published a total of 102+ research papers in reputed international journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. He has also authored/edited 14 international text and reference books published by Springer and IGI Global, and has contributed to 12 patents, with 8 granted, along with one copyright that has been granted.

Under his supervision/co-supervision, 11 Ph.D. students. 14 M.Tech students and 255+ Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Students have completed their degrees, while 4 Ph.D. research scholars are currently working on their research. Notably, one of his Ph.D. research scholars received the AWSAR Award in 2020 from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, under his guidance.

His published research works are highly cited by the global research community, demonstrating his exceptional research performance. He has a Google citation count of 1150+ and an H-index of 34. Dr. Chaubey has been very active in the technical community, serving on the editorial boards of various international conference proceedings and journals. He is also a program committee member for international conferences and an esteemed technical reviewer for reputable journals, including those published by IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, and Wiley.

Prof. Chaubey is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Senior Member of ACM, and a Life Member of the Computer Society of India. He has been actively involved with the IEEE India Council and the IEEE Gujarat Section, serving in various volunteer positions. He has received numerous awards, including the IEEE Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2015 (IEEE Region 10 Asia Pacific), the Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Pedagogical Innovation Award (PIA) in 2015, and the IEEE Outstanding Branch Counselor Award in 2010 (IEEE Region 10 Asia Pacific). His name has been placed in the MARQUIS Who’s Who in the World for the year 2010 Edition.
